matt: i think you definitely should put a lock on the attic door. go to home depot, it takes a screw driver and 5 minutes of your time. put a pad lock on the attic to keep this shit from happening.
person who is living in the attic: your AC is killing the electricity bill, and you tipped your hand as you clearly know how to use a computer. you are either made of flesh, in which case you're prone to death from pieces of metal that when lodged into your flesh at a high rate of speed will eventually kill you. or you are an electrical impulse living in the wires of the house, in which case you are infinitely more bad ass than any of us realize and i want to be your friend.
